Ali Burns joins Upgrade Bikes

Upgrade Bikes has announced the addition of Ali Burns to the new role of account manager for London and the south east of England.

Burns takes with him a wealth of brand and dealer-facing familiarity having worked at Evans Head Office, Madison, GoPro, USE, Exposure, and more recently as store manager for South Downs Bikes.

He is keen to put his experience to the fore right away.

“I’m very excited to join Upgrade Bikes at a time when the portfolio has expanded to include premium brands, such as ABUS, Lizard Skins, Stans and Styrkr, alongside the established DMR, Lezyne and Kinesis UK line-up,” says Burns.

“I’m looking forward to visiting IBDs in a fantastic area, during a challenging time for the industry, and work with them to grow with market leading products and focus on an exciting future.”

The Sussex-based distributor has made the decision to grow its sales team by hiring two new account managers for dealers based in the south of England, with Burns the first to be announced.

Matt Killick, head of sales for Upgrade Bikes, added: “In a time where some of our competitors are looking to put a halt on new additions to their sales teams, I am excited to add Ali to the team here at Upgrade Bikes.

“Ali joins us with an array of experience, from frontline consumer facing sales through to distributor and brand sales too.

“We’ve added a number of category leading brands to our portfolio over the past 12 months, and I know that Ali will hit the ground running, visiting our loyal customer base across London and the south east showcasing our full range of P&A.”

A second account manager to look after dealers based in the south west and South Wales area will be announced in due course.
