JOB TITLE – Area Sales Manager – Bicycle Division – South East & East Anglia

About the role
The role of the Area Sales Manager is to deepen long-term relationships and expand the reach of Cannondale and Focus Bikes within the nominated territory. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be good with numbers, have an excellent eye for detail and motivated to help continue our commitment to their customers.
Reporting to the Commercial Director you will:
- Expand the sale of the Bicycle Division brands in line with company, area and dealer sales and margin targets.
- Build and deliver a strategy to meet company objectives in the sales area, planning sales periods in an efficient manner likely to increase stockists and sales.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with retailers.
- Identify, recruit and develop new dealers for all elements of the brands.
- Manage territory accounts whilst delivering business consultancy to retailers. For key dealers create a seasonal business plan with clear product focus, sales targets and support plans.
- Identify brand presentation initiatives, maintaining brand presentation and experience to the highest possible standards. Planning and supporting territory events.
- Deliver product and sales training to Saddleback retailers.
- Represent the company values of Saddleback and be a brand ambassador within your territory.
- Work closely with the internal Customer Service team to develop their impact on the territory dealer base and resultant sales.
- Liaise with internal departments to deliver strategic plans, in store activity and seasonal plans profitably and to a high standard.
- Support sales of wider Saddleback brands by connecting dealers with other sales team members as appropriate.
What we’re looking for:
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in specialist cycle retailer bike and P&A sales, able to negotiate and close sales positions.
- Presentation skills, alongside written word and strong numeracy.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK Bicycle, Bicycle P&A and Clothing market including up to date product knowledge and relationships.
- Willing to spend time traveling away, including overnight and long days.
- A proven track record in sales and preferably account management in the field, within the UK bike market, able to show good organisation skills and independent action.
- A full, mainly clean, driving license.
- Being a keen and regular road and off-road rider is greatly beneficial to the role.
- IT software skills – excel, word, email etc
