Sam Theyers joins Wattbike as commercial sales director

Wattbike has announced the appointment of Sam Theyers as its new commercial sales director.

This hire marks a strategic step as Wattbike seeks to expand its global footprint in leading health clubs across key international markets, including the USA, Europe, the Middle East, and APAC.

With 25 years of experience working with industry giants such as Life Fitness, Fitness First, Ezdihar Sports, and LA Fitness, Theyers takes an understanding of the fitness sector and a number of international connections.

His expertise in managing major international accounts and fostering strategic partnerships positions him to spearhead Wattbike’s commercial growth.

“I’ve been a passionate supporter of Wattbike for over a decade,” says Theyers.

“It’s the go-to choice for elite athletes and professional sports teams worldwide, unmatched in its precision and performance.

“While Wattbike has achieved remarkable success across professional sports globally, and in both professional sports and health clubs in the UK, there is still significant untapped potential in the global health club sector, and I’m excited to join the team at this pivotal moment and help expand our presence worldwide, unlocking new opportunities and driving growth across international markets.”

Wattbike’s commercial business has long been the backbone of its success, supporting sectors including elite sport, military, healthcare, education, and fitness clubs.

With 3,000 health clubs and studios in the UK already using Wattbikes, the company now aims to replicate this success across new international markets.

The timing is ideal, as Wattbike is preparing to introduce further product innovations to the commercial market over the next six months, following the launch of its broader consumer range in September which included the Wattbike Proton and Wattbike Air.

Stephen Loftus, CEO of Wattbike, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment, adding: “We are excited to welcome Sam to the Wattbike team as the leader of our experienced commercial sales division.

As we focus on expanding our international footprint, particularly within leading health clubs, Sam’s wealth of experience with leading fitness brands globally will be instrumental in forging the long-term partnerships that will fuel our global growth.”
