Wattbike has announced the launch of the Wattbike Proton.
Priced at £1,795, the Proton is marketed as an “accessible and highly versatile new smart bike” designed to offer Wattbike’s technology and free training app to a broader fitness audience.
The Wattbike Proton can be adjusted without the use of tools, allowing users to customise their position and optimise workouts according to their individual training goals.
The Proton supports a broad array of fitness goals, whether they relate to running, cycling, team sports or general cardiovascular fitness.
Wattbike has collaborated with top sports scientists and fitness experts to develop specialised training plans and workouts.
These are available through the Wattbike Hub, a subscription-free app for all Wattbike users that controls the bike’s resistance and guides users through every workout.
Content on the Wattbike Hub has been overhauled as part of the launch, including new workouts tailored for runners and an enhanced user experience.
Wattbike research has shown that many Wattbikes have multiple users at home.
For people who share their Wattbike, this range of adjustment makes it easy for different users to hop on and off.
The Proton also accommodates a range of heights, from 4’6ft to 6’6ft, making it an accessible choice for all.
The Proton integrates with all major apps, including Strava, Rouvy and Zwift, providing the same level of accuracy as its commercial products.
Stephen Loftus, CEO of Wattbike, says: “With the Proton, Wattbike is introducing our proven fitness and training technology to a broader home audience. Its quick and easily adjusted features, expanded free Wattbike Hub training app and competitive pricing makes our world-class training more accessible than ever.”
The Wattbike Proton is currently available exclusively through wattbike.com in the UK.
Further expansion into other markets is planned in the near future.
