Jack Brandsen is taking over the role of chief strategy officer (CSO) Europe at Gobao effective immediately.
In his position, he will drive the strategic direction of the company in the European market.
“The e-bike industry is fast-paced, so it requires a reliable partner who strengthens OEM brands and delivers trustworthy products with a premium service package,” says Brandsen.
“Gobao not only offers unique, customised solutions but also builds sustainable success factors through its strong innovative capabilities and focus on quality.
“That’s why I am very excited about my new responsibilities as CSO.”
Brandsen brings more than 15 years of experience in the bicycle industry and has successfully built numerous brands in the e-mobility sector.
He is no stranger to the industry, particularly due to his previous positions at NuVinci (now Enviolo) and Bafang.
Since 2021, he has been the general manager of Europe at Okawa Motor Technology, where he was responsible for building the European branch in the Netherlands.
With his expertise, deep industry knowledge, and passion for cycling, Brandsen takes the ideal combination to position Gobao in the dynamic e-mobility market.
“At Gobao, we follow a clearly defined roadmap to meet both current and future industry requirements,” adds Eric Zhang, president of Europe at Gobao.
“We focus on the needs of our partners and help them strengthen their market position.
“With Jack Brandsen, we have gained an experienced player who will vigorously support us in this endeavour.”
Gobao, a company from Guangdong (China), operates in the segment for control units in the e-mobility sector.
To leverage its existing experience for e-bikes, Gobao founded its European subsidiary, Gobao Electronic Technology GmbH, in Düsseldorf in 2020.
The subsidiary develops, designs, and produces drive technologies, battery systems, and custom software solutions in the e-mobility sector.
With around 1,500 employees in Asia and Europe, and more than 500 patents worldwide, the company drives innovation.
In 2023, Gobao introduced its first e-bike drive system to the public, and won the Eurobike Award in its first year at the Eurobike trade show.
