Ticking along

Well that’s the first half of 2024 in the books. I’m not quite sure where that time has gone in all honesty.

The weather hasn’t quite delivered what we as an industry had hoped for, but there are still plenty of people getting out on two wheels and making the most of the odd patch of good weather that we have seen.

With the event calendar also kicking into full gear, hopefully there has been a rise in visitors to stores up and down the land with a list of wants and needs, as well as those getting final setup tweaks sorted in the workshop.

Attention for large parts of the European industry will soon switch to Germany – specifically Frankfurt – where many of the trade’s biggest movers and shakers will be heading for Eurobike.

But what does the show offer a UK attendee, bar a glimpse at some shiny products and free stickers? Our staff writer Simon Cox shares his thoughts with us in this edition (p7).

Elsewhere in the mag, Rebecca Morley catches up with some IBDs that took part in Local Bike Shop Day last month (p18), I sit down for an interesting chat with Lee Prescott from the IBFI (p22), and we hear about the launch of Workshop, the latest creation from the brains behind Bikebook (p32).

We also have a bumper brands section featuring catch-ups with Mondraker, Dashel Helmets, Kostume, and Argon18 (p40), as well as a dive into products currently on offer from the new releases to helmets and protective clothing (p53-66).

Enjoy the mag, keep riding and stay rubber side down.
