DJI makes major waves with Avinox Drive System and Amflow eMTB

DJI, a global leader in civilian drones and innovative camera technology, saw the largest queues at any stand during Eurobike 2024 – a result of the dual launch of its Avinox Drive System, and a brand-new eMTB trail bike, with its bike brand, Amflow.

The Avinox Drive System in numbers

  • Drive unit weight 2.52 kg
  • 105 Nm of torque
  • Peak power output 850 W (nominal power output of 250 W)
  • Battery sizes: 800Wh or 600Wh battery
  • 75% charge in just 1.5 hours

Award winning on debut

Making its debut at Eurobike 2024, the DJI team has been honoured by the Eurobike 2024 jury, winning the Best Components category Eurobike Award.

Christina Zhang, senior director of corporate strategy at DJI: “Winning the Eurobike Award in the Best Components category is a significant achievement for DJI as we launch our very first product within the bike industry.

“It not only validates the technological prowess of the Avinox Drive System but also solidifies DJI’s vision of bringing innovation to the e-bike market. The award serves as a demonstration to the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in cycling technology.”

Technology at the human / machine interface

To deliver a dynamic ride experience, the DJI Smart-Assist Algorithm continuously adjusts assistance based on riding resistance, delivering what’s described as ‘a smooth and efficient ride’.

As you’d expect from a technology solutions business, the Avinox system offers a built-in touchscreen display, and smartphone connectivity. The 2-inch OLED display provides essential riding information, and allows for easy customization via the Avinox app.

Comprehensive data recording, easy metric sharing

With the control display or the Avinox app, riders can review rich data like speeds, range, cadence, power, torque, gradient, altitude, calories burned, ride times, heart rate, and more. This data can also be easily synced with third-party apps such as Strava to share with friends and the eMTB community.

Not stopping here. Just getting started

For most businesses this would be cause for celebration. A brand new market entered. A market leading set of motor and battery features, and a new power output benchmark set.

Not for the team at DJI though.

Welcome to Amflow: A brand new bike brand launched to showcase the very best of the Avinox Drive System, via a 160mm front / 150mm rear trail bike.

Headline grabbing stat’ number one: Bike weight 19.2kg

Ultra-light frame

Suspension in focus

Featuring a four-bar linkage structure, the Amflow PL sports a custom tuned rear shock, co-tuned with Fox.
