MicroSHIFT launch Sword Black gravel groupset

MicroSHIFT has introduced the newest member of the Sword product family: Sword Black, which provides a more price point accessible groupset for gravel-focused riders.

Whilst price might be the at-launch focal point, MicroSHIFT is clear that Sword Black has the same precisely dialled ergonomics, wide gear range, and easy serviceability as the original Sword group.

Sword Black simply offers riders a great riding experience at an even more attainable price, with 1X9 and 2X9 groupset options.

Versatile Crankset

Here, MicroSHIFT have added an option for a square taper crankset. It uses the same chainring standards as the original Sword, but adds a new price point and bottom bracket fit so bike shops and riders have the ability to use it on more bikes.

Interchangeability

Making components cross compatible is an encouraging trend, offering riders greater options to customise their bike for their ride needs.

MicroSHIFT have embraced this, delivering Sword Black derailleurs which uses the same pull ratio as Sword. This means riders have the ability to mix and match derailleurs. If you have a Sword Black group but want a clutch, just use a Sword rear derailleur.

Pricing and availability

MicroSHIFT is offering the 1X groupset at RRP £239.99 with the 2X groupset at RRP £289.99

Both groupsets are currently available to pre-order with deliver expected in August of this year.

More Sword, more gears

Extending the Sword line is a 10 speed groupset, which is also available on pre-order with the delivery date also set for August 2024.

MicroSHIFT UK distributor, Ison Distribution points out that “there are plenty of companies making components to elevate your fantasy bike. Sword is designed for reality”.

Sword 10 speed is further described as “super easy to install and adjust (with) the right ergonomics and gear range for long days in the saddle.”

Retailers interested in becoming a microSHIFT stockist should contact their area account manager, or speak to the ISON sales team who can outline further benefits and deals.
