Strava launches shared annual subscription

Strava, the digital community for active people with more than 125 million athletes, is launching Family Plan, a shared annual subscription plan and sibling of the company’s Student Plan.

Originally announced at the brand’s annual event, Camp Strava, Family Plan offers a new, inclusive subscription option for athletes to share with anyone they’d like (e.g. friends, family or training partners), as long as all members live within the same country and are not current subscribers.

Strava research shows that more than half of Strava athletes say they’re motivated by friends and family members who work out, and 77% feel more connected when they see friends’ and families’ activities on Strava.

The new Family Plan is designed to leverage this motivation by offering unlimited access to premium features that help athletes train, compete, and explore together digitally and in real life.

“The magic of Strava lies in the motivation that’s found in our global community,” said Zipporah Allen, chief business officer at Strava.

“Our belief is that people keep people active and the new Family Plan makes it even easier to make a fitness commitment together. It’s about more than just setting shared goals; it’s about embracing shared passions and celebrating collective progress.”

Each member of the Family Plan unlocks full access to a suite of features available via the subscription, most notably:

Goals: Set weekly goals to chase progress, have fun and keep each other accountable.

Workout Insights: Easily digestible analysis of activity data for training and chasing progress.

Group Challenges: Unlimited access to Group Challenges to strive for shared goals.

Routes: Create, discover, and share routes so it’s even easier to plan trips and group adventures.

Available in 32 countries, athletes can share a Family Plan with up to three other people as long as they are not existing Strava subscribers and live in the same country.

The annual Family Plan offers up to 50% savings on average compared to an individual annual subscription when shared among four people.

Cost will vary country by country. To view the cost in your area, visit: www.strava.com/pricing.
