Ribble unveils Allroad range to ‘redefine what’s possible on a road bike’

Ribble Cycles has unveiled its new Allroad range created with the purpose of “redefining what’s possible on a road bike”.

The Allroad range is the culmination of a three-year R&D and Real-World testing process where advanced technologies, applied manufacturing and technology have been informed by Ribble’s flagship Ultra Road aero platform.

Trickle down aero-optimised technology combines with the endurance properties of a more relaxed geometry to create a platform which can be ridden all-day, on multi-surface terrain, offering performance and enhanced ride experience.

“Our extensive R&D programme has enabled us to introduce key findings into the Allroad range giving each bike a competitive advantage and performance edge resulting in a complete package for all riders,” explains Jamie Burrow, head of product at Ribble.

“The Allroad platform has been meticulously designed and fine-tuned to offer an incredible all-day endurance ride paired with unbeatable performance.”

Ribble Allroad SL

The Allroad platform comprises three models – Allroad SL, Allroad SL R and Allroad SL R e.

Key features across the platform include aerodynamically optimised tube profiles, new endurance specific geometry that does not compromise performance, improved tyre clearance of up to 38mm (SL R & SL R e models), multiple mounting points (including hidden mudguard mounts), multi surface versatility and signature design livery.

Models boast the latest carbon technology with the range-topping SL R and SL R e models featuring an advanced blend of T1000 and M46 fibres

The Allroad SL is constructed from T800 and T700 fibres and shares a number of the key aerodynamic features of the flagship SLR models.

One of the key innovations is the all-new Ribble UB2 bar (Ultra Bar 2nd Gen), available on the SL R and SL R e.

Taking all the advantages of the patented Ultra handlebar’s air-flow disrupting wake generators, aero-sculpted drops and direct mount brake levers, and optimising them for an endurance road setup, the UB2 carbon handlebar brings added adjustability to the fully integrated, cable-free ergonomic design for all day riding on the hoods or drops.

Ribble Allroad SL R

The flagship Allroad SL R also incorporates the aerodynamically advanced technology from the Ultra Road platform.

Ribble’s SL R uses a bespoke blend of M46 and T1000 carbon fibre for reduced weight and maximum strength, weighing in at 7.5kg (Medium Hero build).

The model benefits from aero optimised profiling of the downtube, flared seat stays and wider forks alongside tapered chain stays to aid compliance and tyre clearance up to 38c. The SL R includes internal frame storage in the downtube for all ride essentials and can be completed with Ribble’s aero-optimised bottle cages, making the bike even faster with a bottle than without.

Allroad SL’s full carbon frame and fork is engineered from a blend of T700 and T800 fibres to create a lightweight frame weighing in at 8.8kg (Medium Pro build).

Each fibre is deployed across the frame to achieve minimal overall weight while ensuring a blend of stiffness and compliance in the right zones with frame profiles aerodynamically designed for every watt-saving advantage and a tyre clearance of up to 35c.

Ribble Allroad SL R e

The Allroad SL R e takes full advantage of the aerodynamic and advanced construction properties of the SL R platform and pairs it with the Mahle X20 drive system to offer power assistance.

Capable of 140km from a single charge (further increased with the optional range extender to over 200km), the system also includes features such as route planning, and heart rate monitor compatibility which are all updateable from the app via a Bluetooth connection.

The lightweight carbon e-road bikes it weighs in at 11.8kg (Medium Hero build) and has a tyre clearance up to 38c.

The Allroad range is available in recommended builds including Sport, Enthusiast, Pro and Hero.

Allroad SL Sport starts at £1,699 up to the Pro at £2,999. The Allroad SL R Sport begins at £2,999 through to the range-topping Hero spec at £8,299.

The Allroad SL R e Sport starts at £3,999, through to the Hero spec at £8,499.

There is also the option of fine-tuning the specification using Ribble’s Configurator and livery can be further personalised using their CustomColour proposition.
