Ere Research has unveiled a custom wheelset of the Genus AE92-D and the Genus AE00-D to celebrate the victory of the green jersey in the Tour de France this year.
This exclusive design is inspired by Biniam Girmay’s jersey and combines the latest design of the TT wheels with the green of Wanty’s sprint winner.
In early 2024, the collaboration between Intermarché-Wanty and Ere Research was announced, with Ere developing new time trial wheels for the World Tour team.
After several podium finishes in the spring and a third place in the Belgian Time Trial Championship preceding the Tour, the collaboration has been successful so far.
“This partnership allows us to further develop our products to the highest level, thanks to the feedback from the world’s best cyclists,” said Piet van der Velde, founder of Ere Research.
Since the Tour de France has ended with a sprint stage in Paris for the first time since its inception in 1903 but with a time trial, Ere Research took the opportunity to honour the three-time stage winner from Eritrea.
For the final time trial in the Tour de France, custom wheels were created to commemorate the green jersey victory.
The Genus AE92-D and AE00-D, unveiled last year, are designed for time trial and triathlon. The wheels are ideal for full-on aero racing to beat the wind and keep high speed momentum going.
Weighing in at a claimed 890 grams for the front wheel, 1,150 grams for the rear wheel, it boasts aerodynamics to enhance performance.
The full-disc Genus AE00-D has the flexibility to accommodate both SRAM and Shimano
