Chicken CycleKit has announced the appointment of Sarah Hooper who joins the distributor’s internal sales team.
Hooper brings with her a vast wealth of knowledge from her long experience of working in bike shops including the likes of Flamme Rouge and Phil Corley.
In addition to this, Hooper has also worked as the Tifosi Spirit Cycling Team manager, spending a substantial amount of time around high-level amateur racing.
Gary Turner, Chicken CycleKit sales director, said: “It is very important to us that our customers have technically knowledgeable sales staff to speak to, and we’re really excited to bring someone of Sarah’s knowledge and experience into the sales team. Sarah’s experience will no doubt be of great benefit to our customers.”
New brands. New customers.
The past 24 months have seen the Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, based distributor – well known for its long-standing Italian connection, as a UK distributor for Deda, Cinelli, Basso, and Campagnolo – add a succession of global brands to its portfolio of products.
September of 2023 saw the distributor announced as the exclusive UK distributor for German bicycle component brand Thun – best known for producing bottom brackets reinforced with strong thermoplastic carbon composites, meaning they can be fitted without grease and won’t rust or seize if left.
This year started with the news that Chicken had become the new United Kingdom and Ireland distribution partner for US brand, Burley – adding an active travel element to the distributors product portfolio.
The Eugene, Oregon-based business is known for its range of kid, pet, and cargo bicycle trailers, accessories, and replacement parts, all designed for safety, durability, and adventure.
In the lead-up to COREbike 2024, the business announced it had become the exclusive UK distribution partner for Mavic, carrying all of the French brand’s range of products.
On either side of these announcements the business also shared that, despite challenging market conditions for the industry, it had invested back into the company, adding a new third warehouse on site.
