Sports travel business Destination Sport Experiences has announced the appointment of Sean Igoe as its new head of commercial partnerships, as they continue to expand their presence in the world of cycling and endurance sports.
Destination Sport Experiences curate comprehensive travel packages tailored for cyclists, runners, and triathletes, offering guaranteed entry, transportation, accommodation, and on-the-ground support for some of the most renowned events across the globe.
In recent years, the company has expanded significantly through a series of acquisitions and new ventures, including the addition of Sportive Breaks and Marathon Tours and Travel, as well as the opening of offices in international markets like Australia, China, and the United States.
“I am delighted to be working with such great brands as Destination Sport Experiences and Sportive Breaks,” said Igoe.
“It’s also a pleasure to be collaborating with Managing Director Brendan Fox, whom I have known for many years.
“There is a significant opportunity here for cycling and running brands to engage with their target market in a unique way, whether through brand building, sampling, training camps, corporate hospitality, or charity events.”
With a career spanning leadership roles at Future, TimeInc, and Dennis, Igoe has played a part in the development of BikeRadar, Cycling Weekly, and Cyclist.
He takes a wealth of experience in commercial leadership, with an understanding of the cycling industry and a track record of fostering brand partnerships.
Igoe’s appointment is perfectly timed to support the Destination Sport Experience brands, and its expanding business portfolio.
Brendan Fox, managing director of Destination Sport Experiences, added: “Sean is a tremendous asset to the business.
“His extensive experience and deep-rooted connections across the cycling industry are unparalleled.
“We are excited to have someone of his calibre onboard to help grow our relationships with brands and enhance the experiences we provide to our clients.”
