Vittoria opens ‘world’s most advanced tyre research and testing centre’

Vittoria has officially announced the opening of VittoriaLabs, a multi-location, state-of-the-art, research and development centre designed to redefine the future of cycling performance.

“Labs” in the plural

The opening at the brand’s headquarters follows the launch of the already operational centre in Thailand, as well as the VittoriaPark, which serves as both a place of fun and a cutting-edge testing facility.

These labs are designed to generate technological innovations in cycling and ensure that Vittoria maintains a leadership position in performance, safety, and sustainability.

“Vittoria Labs will be the engine driving our ambitions for market leadership in innovation in a future we are already shaping,” says Stijn Vriends, chairman and CEO of Vittoria.

VittoriaLabs (Thailand): A 330 m² facility equipped with 15 state-of-the-art machines for research and development on tyre systems and accessories.

VittoriaLabs (Italy): Spanning 430 m² and housing eight high-performance machines, this centre represents the core of Vittoria’s innovative efforts.

VittoriaPark (Italy): A five-hectare outdoor testing facility with over five kilometres of tracks, complements the indoor labs by allowing for comprehensive field tests under various conditions. This combination of indoor precision and real-world outdoor trials ensures Vittoria’s primacy and unique position in the global tyre and accessory industry.

The VittoriaLabs are located in two regions known for their academic excellence and industrial expertise, enabling the company to collaborate with top-tier universities and local industries for continuous innovation.

Proximity to these institutions facilitates collaboration and access to leading research, ensuring Vittoria maintains an edge in its cutting-edge endeavours.

Additionally, the location allows for a direct connection between Vittoria’s headquarters and factories, ensuring smooth and rapid communication and production.

Quantifying tyre system benefits on an engineering basis.

Thanks to the new global structure of VittoriaLabs and VittoriaPark, Vittoria now has the unique capability to quantify the benefits of tyre systems on an engineering basis.

Through rigorous testing, both indoors and outdoors, the labs can accurately measure and analyse performance improvements across a range of metrics-enabling the company to develop products optimized for real-world conditions.

This data-driven approach ensures that every tyre system is designed to provide maximum safety, efficiency, and sustainability for cyclists of all levels.

“By combining state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor testing facilities, we can push the limits of what’s possible in cycling tyres and accessories, while keeping sustainability at the core of our innovations,” adds Vanessa ten Hoff, chief innovation and marketing officer of Vittoria.
