Michelin has updated its Wild Enduro Racing Line tyre range.
Building on UCI Mountain Bike Enduro World Cup experience, and rider feedback, Michelin has upgraded its range, producing a tyre offering which is lighter and faster than its predecessors.
The new tyres are also intended to provide enhanced grip on wet ground and in cold weather.
A choice of three new tread patterns aims to make the range even more versatile – providing cover all conditions.
Key technologies and engineering
Developed with Enduro World Cup competitors in mind, the Wild Enduro Racing Line range combines lighter casing technology with the resilience of its predecessor.
To obtain these qualities, Michelin’s engineers have conceived a new dual-ply 55TPI construction that aims to minimise flexion movement, providing superior stability when cornering and landing jumps.
At the same time, the casing comes with added protection for extra resistance to punctures.
The range also benefits from Michelin’s latest Magi-X compound technology, developed for enhanced grip in damp, cold conditions (3°C to 10°C). Magi-X technology is also reported to reduce rubber-related energy losses.
Independent verification of performance claims
As well as tipping the scales 10% lighter, independent testers Wheel Energy have shown the range delivers significant improvements in rolling resistance with the rear saving 30W over the previous versions, and the front 20W.
Range and Pricing
The range features two tread patterns, designed for different types of terrain.
- Michelin Wild Enduro MS (Mixed Soft) excels on intermediate and soft ground
- Michelin Wild Enduro MH (Mixed Hard) is at its best on harder surfaces
Both options are available for the front and rear tyres alike.
Michelin has revised the tread pattern of its specific Michelin Wild Enduro Rear Racing Line specifically catering to riders looking for increased efficiency.
All tyres in the updated range available with either blue and yellow or dark sidewall markings.
