2024 sees Bosch eBike Systems celebrate 10 years of connected biking, and in doing so the German business has announced several new features including AI integration, new eShift capabilities, plus the expansion of B2B digital services.
The brand points out that it has further enhanced its Smart System eBike experience with the introduction of the Model Year 2025 portfolio.
MY25 updates include:
- Incorporating AI for further route planning and navigation
- Range Control for battery management and Eco+ mode for improved energy efficiency.
- A partnership with TRP and Shimano also sees Bosch introduce a new gear-shifting system, improving riding comfort and reducing material wear.
Intelligent route planning and navigation with new AI capabilities
Bosch eBike Systems’ smart system enhances the enjoyment of riding e-bikes through artificial intelligence by offering personalised route planning and navigation that adapts to user behaviour. For MY25, new Range Control features have been introduced, allowing riders to reach their destination with a specific battery level and an Eco+ mode that promotes energy efficiency for extended riding ranges.
New gear-shifting capabilities in conjunction with TRP and Shimano
Bosch’s integrated electronic eShift gear-shifting seeks to enhance e-bike comfort while reducing material wear.
For MY25 the eShift portfolio has been expanded through technological partnerships with TRP and Shimano, and now includes compatibility with e-bikes using derailleur systems.
Additionally, the auto downshift function can be fully customised using the eBike Flow app, broadening the range of applications and further improving the e-bike experience.
Practical upgrades for everyday riders
In celebrating a decade of connected cycling, Bosch is continuing to advance industry standards with improvements in theft protection, navigation and regular updates, ensuring more customisation and convenient e-biking experience.
Expanded digital offerings for e-bike manufacturers
Bosch is expanding its digital offering for e-bike manufacturers by introducing various app interfaces and services to enhance the future of e-bike riding.
The eBike Flow app will now match the e-bike manufacturers’ branding, as well as offering eBike SDK and Cloud APIs for developing own-brand solutions. Third-party integrations will broaden the scope of potential innovations and functionalities.
Environmental impact in focus
2024 also sees Bosch’s commitment to sustainability and innovation highlighted by its CO2 analysis with TÜV Rheinland, aiming to enhance e-bike sustainability and prioritising emissions reduction by expanding its remanufacturing portfolio and global battery recycling efforts.
