Bosch presents new for model year 25.1 e-bike system

With the launch of MY25.1, Bosch eBike Systems has introduced a sporty ecosystem aimed at delivering what the brand calls “the ultimate eMTB experience”.

The new Performance Line CX is said to offer “more dynamics, and agility”, whilst also being “quieter than ever before”.

In combination with the new Bosch eBike ABS Pro, the Purion 400 display, and PowerTube batteries, Bosch is once again aiming to set new standards in eMTB.

The MY 25.1 announcement also comes as Bosch celebrates 10 years of Uphill Flow, which began as an idea in 2014, and continues to inspire Bosch innovation and product developments.

Performance Line CX: New standards in eMTB

As you would expect, the new generation of the Performance Line CX is positioned to deliver “more dynamics on climbs, more agility on trails, and more smoothness.” As Bosch puts it: “Power Meets Control”.

For eMTB riders, it is not just performance metrics that are a focal point, but also the fine-tuning of a motor – given its potential to determine the flow factor on the trail.

“With 85 Newton metres of torque, a maximum power of 600 watts and up to 340 percent support, the new Performance Line CX delivers the ideal balance of power, dynamics, efficiency and range,” says Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems.

Fleischer further comments: “Whether for sensitive starts on steep trails or powerful, perfectly controlled exits from corners: With its precise, sensitive response behaviour, our new drive unit allows sporty eBikers to experience unique riding dynamics for the perfect eMTB experience.”

A variety of different riding modes are available for Performance Line CX, which can be selected and customised in the eBike Flow app.

Bosch eBike ABS Pro: Maximum braking performance

“Demanding downhill riders and enduro racers want to focus more on their line and less on their braking”. Here, Bosch eBike Systems offers up new ABS Pro as a new solution.

Developed with experience and technology from eMTB racing, Bosch eBike ABS Pro offers two different modes – ABS Race and ABS Trail Pro.

In developing the new ABS Pro, Bosch has drawn on experience gained from eMTB racing. This resulted in two ABS Pro modes: ABS Trail Pro, tailored for performance-driven mountain bikers, and ABS Race, designed specifically for enduro racers.

The ABS Trail Pro mode is said to be the new standard for every challenging trail descent, and has been developed for more efficient, stable and controlled braking on loose surfaces.

eMTB riders can fully focus on the ideal line and benefit from the rear wheel lift control on grippy surfaces, that prevents the rear wheel from unintentionally lifting in the event of extremely heavy overbraking.

In comparison, the range of functions in the ABS Race mode have been deliberately adapted, allowing riders to lift the rear wheel off the ground and land it again, as the lift control is deactivated.

Here, Fleischer notes: “We have received feedback from our athletes that they are simply faster with ABS Race. They feel safer and perform better and can gain crucial time on the downhill. Added value for discerning bikers who want to push themselves to the limit on the trail.”

10 years of Uphill Flow: How Bosch eBike Systems helped shape mountain biking

Ten years ago, Bosch introduced an idea that transformed eMTB, and changed the bicycle industry: Uphill Flow. Uphill Flow remains deeply embedded in the DNA of Bosch eBike Systems and continues to drive numerous product developments.
