World Bicycle Relief has been announced as the Charity Sponsor for the BikeBiz Awards 2024, in association with Push.
Each year, the BikeBiz Awards are a highlight on the calendar as we are privileged to celebrate the unique, innovative, and important work being done across the cycle trade.
World Bicycle Relief is a catalyst for change, partnering with people in rural communities around the globe to realise their goals by expanding opportunities to access education, markets, health facilities and vital services with the tools they need to thrive.
Ben Sadler, managing director of World Bicycle Relief UK, commented: “We are thrilled to join the BikeBiz Awards as the Charity Sponsor for this year’s event. This partnership provides us an incredible opportunity to support and celebrate the remarkable achievements within the cycling industry—an industry that is deeply connected to our mission at World Bicycle Relief.
“Every day, we work to transform lives through The Power of Bicycles, providing purpose-built, locally assembled bikes to students, healthcare workers, and entrepreneurs in rural regions where access to transportation is a major barrier. For these cyclists, bicycles are not just a means of transport; they are powerful catalysts for empowerment and change.
“By sponsoring the BikeBiz Awards, we are honoured to help spotlight those who innovate and inspire progress in cycling, just as we strive to do in communities around the world.”
World bicycle relief aspires for individuals to have access to an appropriate transport option that is affordable, safe, and meets their needs and preferences. They are experts in bicycle mobility and design bicycle mobility solutions.
The charity envisions a world where bicycles improve healthcare and education outcomes and broaden economic opportunities so individuals and communities can thrive.
Equipped with a purpose-designed Buffalo Bicycle from World Bicycle Relief, students, health workers and entrepreneurs in low-income regions create opportunities for themselves, their families and entire communities.
BikeBiz editor Daniel Blackham added: “We are delighted to welcome World Bicycle Relief as our latest partner for the BikeBiz Awards 2024, in association with Push.
“The Buffalo Bike is a stunning piece of design and engineering, and truly embodies the motto of ‘The Power of Bicycles’ with its life-changing impact for many communities.
“The importance of their efforts around the world can’t be understated, and we look forward to highlighting their work further in the coming months.”
This year sees the BikeBiz Awards 2024, in association with Push, return in-person event for the first time since 2019, with the winners announced at a special event on Thursday, October 31, at The Button Factory in Birmingham.
