Go Outdoors has released the fourth iteration of the Calibre Bossnut.
Since its launch in 2015, the entry-level full-suspension bike has won a host of awards as it became a go-to for many making their first forays into mountain biking, all while on a budget.
For 2024, the bike has been redesigned from the ground up to make it “more capable than ever, whilst keeping a playful feel”.
The biggest change to the bike is that it is now rolling on 29” wheels.
Go Outdoors and Calibre tested 27.5”, 29“ and mullet versions of this bike with the 29er coming out on top.
The travel has also been increased from 130mm all round to 140mm on the front and 135mm on the rear, making the bike a more capable all-rounder that can take the bigger hits as riding progresses.
Calibre has spec’d the new Bossnut with a size-specific X-fusion Manic dropper and aluminium lever out of the box.
As has become the standard, the suspension is taken care of by Rockshox, a 140mm Recon RL fork up front and a Deluxe Select shock on the rear.
The brakes are Shimano MT401 with 180mm rotors front and rear, with the drivetrain also taken care of by Shimano.
A new Cues 10-speed set-up offers a wide range 11-48 cassette and is built for longevity and shifting under load.
The Calibre Bossnut has Maxxis tyres with a Minion DHF up front and a Forkaster on the rear, both are seated on 30mm internal tubeless ready rims.

The Calibre Bossnut is available in five sizes: XS, S, M, L and XL (the XS comes with 27.5” wheels) and has an RRP of £1,700, discounted to £1,499 with a Go Outdoors membership.
