Cannondale has introduced two new e-bikes designed to make using a bike the natural choice for daily travel, in urban settings and beyond.
Whether it’s the city, where the urban-focused Mavaro is optimised to help riders comfortably get around town, or the Tesoro, for riders looking for a more rugged just-get-away-from-it-all focus, both bikes offer riders an e-bike with a comfort-oriented, saddle-low-bars-high, riding position.
Move with comfort
At launch, Cannondale described the Mavaro as “an e-bike designed to deliver where function meets pleasure. Comfort meets capability. Speed meets style. From point A to point B, or to no point in particular – it’s your best way there.”
Featuring a HeadShok suspension fork, and a bump-absorbing seatpost (on the range-topping Mavaro 1), combined with swept-back bars and upright rider position, the Mavaro was clearly engineered to maximize riding comfort, making the bike an enjoyable riding experience for people using a bike as regular, reliable, means to go about their day.
Rider confidence, engineered in
Cannondale’s HeadsShok offers a solution that is widely considered to deliver a unique bump absorption and steering precision, and, the brand points out, forms a central element in giving the Mavaro “reassuringly stable handling”.
Keeping with the ‘everyday useable’ theme, integrated lights, front and back, come as standard, ensuring riders can both see and be seen. The range-topping Mavaro 1 also features Garmin’s rear-facing sensor, alerting riders of approaching vehicles.
Bosch power
The Mavaro is Bosch equipped, featuring one common motor, and two distinct system and battery options across the five-bike range:
- Bosch Performance Line CX 250W drive-unit with 85Nm / 625Wh battery / Range: up to 146km
- Bosch Smart System – Performance Line CX 250W drive-unit with 85Nm / 750Wh battery/ Range: up to 175km
The Mavaro range offers three bikes with belt drive, and two bikes with conventional chain, with bikes equipped with drive train component changes reflecting belt or chain.
Tesoro X
Cannondale positions the Tesoro X as a “sporty commuting e-bike” whilst also emphasising the explorer element of its spec and design. Equipped with the same Bosch options as the Mavaro, the Tesoro X also benefits from big range.
Setting the two bikes apart is a selection of components, including a 100mm travel suspension fork, and mixed-surface tyres, expanding the remit of the bike “built to get you to it all week, and away from it all on the weekend” as the brand highlights.
Frame options
Three different frame options enable riders to choose the Tesoro X that suits their intended use and riding style, with Tesoro X coming with a classic top-tube version, a step-thru version and an easy, convenient low step-thru version.
