Cyclesense debuts new visual identity

Cyclesense, a family-run bike shop and a cornerstone of Tadcaster since 1991, has debuted a fresh new look.

The rebrand, which includes a new visual identity, represents the evolution of Cyclesense from its humble beginnings to its status today as a thriving independent retailer serving cycling enthusiasts both locally and nationally through its growing e-commerce platform.

Born from the childhood dream of founder David Stainthorpe, Cyclesense started in 1991 with £600 worth of stock, a market stall, and a passion for all things cycling.

Over the years, the business has grown significantly, moving to larger premises on Tadcaster’s High Street and even expanding to a second location devoted entirely to children’s bikes.

The rebrand honours this history while embracing a modern aesthetic that reflects Cyclesense’s ongoing commitment to quality, community and service.

“Our new visual identity remembers where we came from, and shows where we’re going,” said company director John Stainthorpe, who now leads the business with his brother Paul after their parents, Dave and Sue, retired in 2020.

“We wanted to reflect how we’re a family business with our roots in Tadcaster, but also how we’re growing and thriving with our e-commerce offering”.

The rebrand is not just about a fresh look – it’s also a strategic move to strengthen Cyclesense’s online presence.

In recent years, Cyclesense has seen significant growth in its e-commerce operations, with its selection of bikes, e-bikes and accessories reaching customers across the UK.

“Our online business has really taken off, and we’re proud to have built a reputation for quality and service that now extends far beyond North Yorkshire,” adds John.

“The rebrand is about ensuring that our online identity reflects the same level of quality and trust that customers have come to expect when they visit us here in Tadcaster.”
