To support the launch of the new SRAM Red groupset, Hammerhead has released its latest Karoo cycling computer.
According to the brand, it features comprehensive structured workout support, industry-leading navigation, and an all-new Companion App and Dashboard that allow the user to manage the Karoo without removing it from the handlebars.
The key to this launch is Karoo’s control of the bike’s connected components, from SRAM AXS products to e-bikes to ANT+ lights.
Karoo features a smartphone-like screen with industry-leading display for colourful visualisations and intuitive configurations of ride data and maps.
Designed to reduce downtime while riding, Karoo benefits from 64GB of memory, 4GB of RAM, and extended battery life providing more maps, faster map rendering, and longer uptime.
Multi-band GNSS technology gives pin-point accuracy on any path, whether in crowded cities, tight singletrack, tree covered trails, or anywhere in between.
Riders can choose their preferred surface-specific routing type (road, MTB, gravel) and explore new paths with one of the best-in-class maps and navigation, including free global maps, instant route syncing from connected accounts, and automatic climb detection with — or without — a route.
As can be expected, Hammerhead claims that the Karoo offers “unparalleled” connectivity with SRAM AXS products allowing for easier customisation, better equipment awareness, and simple pairing with groupsets, power meters, tyre pressure sensors, and more.
Karoo’s support for ANT+ radars and lights make it easier than ever to be safe on the road in any riding condition
Users can also pair Karoo to an e-bike and access LEV e-bike data fields such as motor assist level, estimated range, e-bike motor output, and e-bike battery level
Regular software updates are expected to introduce new features and improvements to Karoo, keeping it at the forefront of the cycling ecosystem.
