BMC has launched a host of updates to its URS gravel line-up.
The overhauled URS range will see four new distinct models: URS, URS 01, URS 01 LT and an e-bike option, the URS AMP LT.
According to the Swiss brand, the URS will offer “the purest way to experience unrestricted gravel riding” through a blend of progressive geometry, low weight, and easy maintenance.
The BMC Gravel Fit geometry features a long frame reach paired with short stems for more direct and responsive handling.
A lower bottom bracket improves traction and stability, while the 69.5 degree head angle adds performance on steep inclines.
The full range will see integrated downtube storage with a purposefully designed bag, tyre clearance up to 47mm measured (spec’d with 44mm) for added control and Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) dropouts for optimised shifting
There is also frame, downtube and dropout protection, a host of mounting points, and a D-Shape seatpost which is dropper and d-fender compatible.
The URS 01 is for riders who want or need gravel specific suspension, offering the same torsional stiffness of its sibling’s fully rigid frame thanks to a dual-guide design.
For the URS 01, BMC has added MicroTravel Technology (MTT) seatstays with XCell damping technology, an exclusive material that delivers “a natural suspension feel with virtually no weight penalty”.
MTT seatstays can be configured to individual rider weights and riding styles by using the different damper densities.
The 01 also includes the addition of the ICS MTT Stem.
As with all BMC ICS cockpits, the ICS MTT Stem provides stealth cable routing, but delivers up to 20mm travel.
Next up is the URS 01 LT.
The URS 01 LT sees the addition of an MTT Suspension Fork with 20mm of travel that can be customised to suit terrain and rider weight.
Completing the line-up is the URS AMP LT, which sees the inclusion of a TQ HPR50 drive unti offering up to 300 watts of peak power.
URS, URS 01, URS 01 LT and URS AMP LT are available in XS, S, M L and XL.
Product will be available across Europe and North America from late August. BMC does not currently have a distribution partner in the UK.
