Job Title: Cycle Sales and Dealership Officer
Location: Pedal Power, Cardiff
Salary: £10,951 per annum
Hours: 15 hours per week (Tuesday to Saturday, with flexible working considered)
Contract Length: 1 Year Fixed Term, with potential to extend

Pedal Power is Wales’ largest inclusive cycling charity, dedicated to breaking down barriers and enabling individuals of all ages and abilities to cycle. With over 20 years of experience in Cardiff, we work towards improving access to cycling for all members of the community, particularly those facing mobility and health challenges. We are seeking a Cycle Sales and Dealership Officer to join our team at Pedal Power. This new role will be integral in supporting our mission to provide cycling opportunities for people of all abilities by managing the sales of new cycles and accessories, ensuring excellent customer service, and contributing to the overall success of the charity’s cycling dealership. You will work closely with the Director to deliver the best experience for our customers and further Pedal Power’s charitable objectives.
Job Purpose:
The Cycle Sales and Dealership Officer will play a key role in supporting Pedal Power’s mission by providing specialist dealership sales of adaptive cycles and supporting the rotation of the charity’s cycle fleet. As the main point of contact for customer sales, this role will be responsible for offering expert advice to customers and promoting the benefits of cycling, particularly for those with specific mobility or health needs. Additionally, the Officer will work to grow the sales income stream for the charity, developing new partnerships and business opportunities to further support the organisation’s impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Cycle Sales and Customer Support:
- Act as the main point of contact for customers interested in purchasing adaptive cycles.
- Provide expert advice to customers on the selection of cycles, accessories, and services, ensuring recommendations are suitable for their needs.
- Manage the sales process from initial inquiry to post-purchase support, ensuring a smooth and professional experience, maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Respond to customer queries, both in person and via phone or email, in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
- Assist in resolving any customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
- Provide after-sales support to customers, ensuring they are satisfied with their purchase and that any issues are addressed promptly.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, ensuring they return for future purchases or services
Cycle Ordering and Dealership:
- Work closely with key manufacturers and continue to build on existing relationships.
- Order cycles from manufacturers, ensuring stock levels align with customer orders and ensure timely delivery and quality assurance of ordered cycles.
- Work closely with the Workshop Manager and Team in the scheduling of new cycle builds and customer timelines.
Fleet Rotation Management:
- Oversee the rotation of the Pedal Power cycle fleet, ensuring that cycles are ready for sale and in good working condition, with suitable replacements available.
- Assist in the preparation of new cycles for sales customers, including any necessary modifications or adjustments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications, features, and industry trends, especially with accessible cycling products designed for individuals with mobility or health challenges.
Sales Targets & Administration:
- Achieve sales targets by promoting products and services.
Sales and Income Development:
- Contribute to the growth of Pedal Power’s sales income by developing strategies to increase sales and attract new customers.
- Foster and maintain relationships with existing customers and potential new partners or businesses.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities to expand Pedal Power’s sales network and business collaborations.
- Attend relevant events to promote cycle sales and Pedal Power.
Marketing and Promotion:
- Assist in promoting the charity’s adaptive cycle sales to the wider community through various channels, including social media, local events, and partnerships.
- Work alongside the Community and Engagement Officer to create appealing content that showcases the benefits and availability of adapted cycles for sale on our website to promote sales to a wider audience.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Keep accurate records of sales, customer interactions, and inventory levels.
- Provide regular reports to the Director regarding sales progress, customer feedback, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaboration and Team Support:

- Work closely with other team members, including workshop staff and volunteers, to ensure seamless operation.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall growth and development of Pedal Power.
Charity Values & Community Outreach:
- Promote Pedal Power’s charitable objectives and raise awareness about the work we do in the community.
- Encourage and support customers to engage with the charity’s initiatives, such as participation in events, donations, or volunteering.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Commitment to the mission and values of Pedal Power Charity with a passion for cycling and a commitment to promoting an inclusive cycling culture.
- Proven experience in a sales environment, preferably in the retail or cycling industry.
- Experience in providing customer service and offering expert advice to a diverse range of customers.
- Experience in managing stock or inventory, particularly in a cycle dealership or similar setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy, customer-focused environment.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in using Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Ability to drive the charity’s van and hold a valid driving license.
- Friendly, approachable, and able to engage with a wide variety of people, including those from diverse backgrounds and with varying abilities.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong commitment to improving customer experiences.
- Flexible and adaptable in a changing work environment.
Desirable:
- Experience working within a charitable or non-profit organisation.
- Knowledge of adapted cycles or the ability to learn quickly about different types of cycles and their benefits.
- An understanding of fundraising or business development in a charity setting.
- Knowledge of adaptive cycling and an understanding of the specific needs of individuals with mobility and health challenges.
- Awareness of the principles of inclusive cycling and accessibility for all.
Other Requirements:
- A genuine passion for inclusive cycling and helping people of all abilities access cycling opportunities.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required by the needs of the charity, with a commitment to working occasional weekends.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training related to the role.
