Lapierre has announced the signing of a new four-year partnership (2025-2028) as cycling supplier to the Dutch Team Picnic PostNL, with the support of its parent company Accell.
This partnership, which will take effect on 1 January 2025 with the first races starting in mid- January in Australia for the Santos Tour Down Under, demonstrates Lapierre’s determination to position itself as a benchmark brand in top-level cycling.
Motivated by this new challenge, Lapierre will supply its top-performing bikes for the men’s and women’s UCI World Tour teams as well as the development team at UCI Continental level. This commitment to high performance illustrates Lapierre’s thirst for victory in the biggest races on the World Tour calendar and its ambition to become a brand of choice at international level in order to conquer new market shares throughout Europe, by building on the international renown of the Team Picnic PostNL UCI World Tour team.
Lapierre is the French brand that makes cycling a performance. Founded in Dijon (France) in 1946, the brand has become a benchmark in the world of cycling, whether on the road, mountain bikes or electric bikes. Lapierre is also renowned for its technological advances and its success in the biggest races: Lapierre has a long and rich history in professional cycling, with more than 300 successes at the highest level of men’s and women’s professional cycling in the three Grand Tours, as well as national, European, world and Olympic titles.
Driven by a culture of excellence and innovation for almost 80 years, this new collaboration also includes the ambition to rapidly co-develop future Lapierre performance road bikes with the Team Picnic PostNL’s performance division. The aim of this synergy between Lapierre’s Research and Development department and the team’s performance department will be to provide all the resources needed to push back the limits of innovation and performance.
For the start of their 2025 season, all the professional riders in Team Picnic PostNL will be riding the brand new Xelius DRS performance bike (Paris 2024 Olympic champion bike in triathlon) for all the road events, and the Aerostorm DRS (Paris 2024 Olympic champion bike and 2024 world champion bike in time trial) for the ultra-fast time trial events.
Dorian Tabeau, Lapierre Global brand director, said: “This is an important moment for Lapierre. It’s not just coming back to the World Tour, it’s also the proof of our ambition to become a very Big Brand with all the support and strength of the Accell Group. By joining forces with this great and prestigious team, we are starting to roll out our strategy to go international and make Lapierre a benchmark brand in the performance sport segment. With Team Picnic PostNL, we have signed a true partnership to combine our strengths to reach the summits in a close future.”
Team Picnic PostlNL CEO Iwan Spekenbrink, said: “We are delighted to partner with Accell Group and Lapierre and are impressed by their recent restructuring to become future proof in what has been a challenging cycling manufacturing industry for the last years. We share a mindset regarding our commitments to technology, innovation and performance.
