Re-Cycle has been announced as the sponsor for the Cycle Advocacy Award at the BikeBiz Awards 2024, in association with Push.
The Cycle Advocacy Award, in association with Re-Cycle will be open to any company advocating cycling throughout the UK to benefit the cycle industry members, e.g. promoting funding schemes, cycling education, infrastructure campaigning, with the winner decided by judging panel.
Re-Cycle is a charity dedicated to transforming lives through the power of bicycles.
For over 25 years, the charity has been on a mission to change lives, one bike at a time.
Re-Cycle collects unwanted bikes from across the UK, saving them from landfill and giving them a new lease on life.
Charlotte Ward, director of Re-Cycle, commented: “Re-Cycle is thrilled to sponsor the Cycle Advocacy Award at the BikeBiz Awards. It’s great to be part of this amazing event that celebrates the champions of cycling across the UK.
“By recognising those who promote the transformative power of cycling, we are not only supporting local advocacy but also helping to create brighter futures for communities in Africa and beyond. Together, we pedal towards positive change.”
Working hand in hand with partners, the charity ensures these bikes are maintained and distributed responsibly, training mechanics to keep the wheels turning smoothly.
Through a sustainable approach, Re-Cycle has rescued more than 145,000 bikes and countless spare parts, redirecting them towards meaningful impact in African communities.
BikeBiz editor Daniel Blackham added: “It’s fantastic to have Re-Cycle on board as our latest partner for the BikeBiz Awards 2024, in association with Push.
“The Cycle Advocacy Award is extremely important as it highlights so much of the work which often goes unrecognised in our industry and Re-Cycle is the perfect partner for this.
“If you take a step back and consider how many lives have been changed for the better thanks to their efforts, it is a truly staggering feat. We look forward to showcasing more of what they do in the coming months.”
Each year, the BikeBiz Awards are a highlight on the calendar as we are privileged to celebrate the unique, innovative, and important work being done across the cycle trade.
This year sees the BikeBiz Awards 2024, in association with Push, return in-person event for the first time since 2019, with the winners announced at a special event on Thursday, October 31, at The Button Factory in Birmingham.
Tickets are on sale now with early bird tickets only £25+VAT per person.
