Kask unveils Nirvana as flagship aero helmet

Kask has unveiled the Nirvana, a new flagship aero helmet designed to deliver minimal drag and maximum speed.

The development of this product utilised a host of CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simulations which measured aerodynamic performance, ventilation and thermoregulation.

The findings of those simulations – coupled with Kask’s two decades of experience in producing helmets – resulted in the Nirvana delivering a claimed 35% reduction in aerodynamic drag and a 19% increase in ventilation compared to competitors in its class.

Nirvana incorporates innovative ear covers which allows airflow to be channelled more efficiently around the helmet.

Internal channelling has also been integrated to provide optimal thermoregulation to the front and top of the head whilst delivering increased levels of ventilation.

As well as being designed to go fast, Nirvana also achieves Kask’s main priority – safety.

Like all Kask helmets, Nirvana was designed in accordance with the Kask Rotational Impact WG11 Test, an internal testing regime adopted by the company which measures the performance of its helmets against rotational impacts.

The helmet also features ground-breaking Multipod technology.

This 3D-printed internal padding enables the helmet to better withstand linear and rotational impacts, and functions isotropically, meaning it behaves the same way, whichever direction the force is applied.

Multipod’s unique design also improves the helmet’s ventilation by allowing air to pass directly through to the rider’s head, and additional Merino wool padding has also been positioned at the front and side of the helmet to ensure increased comfort and effective sweat absorption.

Nirvana’s other technical features include Kask’s Octofit+ adjustment system, which provides comfort and stability via micro-adjustments across the nape of the neck, and a faux-leather strap.

The helmet also incorporates a sunglasses port at the front and a reflective graphic at the back.

Nirvana is available in traditional Black Matt and White Matt, as well as in Cherry Burst, Blueberry Fade and Ultraviolet – three new colourways which feature graduated shading.

Weighing in at a claimed 270g for a size medium , Nirvana is available in sizes M and L at a recommended retail price of £320.

Kask is distributed in the UK by VeloBrands.
