Transition introduce completely redesigned Ripcord

Transition has introduced a brand new Ripcord, the 24-inch wheeled bike which has taken young rippers to the next level for years.

The completely redesigned Ripcord has been brought up to date and offers a platform ready for a new generation of riders to redefine their riding boundaries.

An all-new design specifically aims to crank things up an extra notch, most noticeably with travel having increased from 100mm to 130mm.

The little shredders rig now uses the same GiddyUp linkage and vertical shock design as Transition’s adult bikes, with the new kinematic said to give a supple and supported ride, with the same range of tuning as its full-sized relatives.

This new frame also has internal dropper cable routing and arrives fitted with a dropper post fitted as standard.

Spec in detail

  • 130mm travel front and rear: The Ripcord is ready for anything from the local trails to the bike park.
  • One Size: Fitting a range of kids from roughly 4’2” to 5’
  • Low Standover Height: The Ripcord is easy to throw a leg over, making kids more likely to take off in the sport.
  • GiddyUp suspension with kinematic for lightweight riders: A balanced suspension platform has been designed to offer shred-ready grip and support for even the lightest of riders.
  • 24” Wheels: Big enough to handle real trails but still nimble and easy to manoeuvre.
  • 65-degree head tube angle and 395mm chainstays: Transition designed the Ripcord to ride well on trails, but remain easy to get acquainted with to inspire confidence.
  • Youth-Specific Components: Every component has been chosen to make it as easy as possible for kids to ride. Highlights include Shimano short-reach brake levers and short-reach shifters, plus SDG’s youth-specific grips, saddle and pedals.
  • 2.4” Maxxis DHRII tyres w/ WTB rims: Small riders deserve and demand every bit of available traction
  • Waterbottle Compatible: The Ripcord fits the 450ml Fidlock water bottle
  • 12x148mm dropouts with UDH hanger: Standard dropouts and UDH hanger make it easy to get replacement parts.

Ripcords are now on their way to the UK, with stock expected to arrive at the very beginning of 2025. Bikes will be available in two colourways – Boysenberry or Raw. SSP: £2599

In the UK, Transition is distributed by Windwave.

Silverfish manages distribution for the brand in Austria and Germany.
