UAE Team Emirates and UAE Team ADQ welcome Shimano as official technical partner

“The UCI WorldTour’s ‘Best Team for 2024’ will race with top-of-the-line Dura-Ace components until 2028” – is the news fresh from Shimano.

Shimano and UAE Team Emirates have announced their new partnership, which will see Shimano as the team’s leading materials provider for the upcoming 2025 road cycling season, and beyond.

For the next four years, the biggest component manufacturer and the leading WorldTour team will unite, to redefine what is possible on two wheels.

UAE Team Emirates and its partner team in the UCI Women’s Tour, UAE Team ADQ, will use Shimano’s top-of-the-range products, namely its Dura-Ace Di2 wireless groupset, providing the teams with its most advanced shifting and braking technology.

Mauro Gianetti, team principal & CEO, UAE Team Emirates said: “We are very proud and excited to begin this partnership with Shimano. We are an innovative team and always looking to be at the forefront with our equipment. To compete at the highest level you need to be using the best materials and combining our expertise in cycling together I feel we can go on to achieve great things over the coming years.”

Melissa Moncada, president, UAE Team ADQ said: “Women’s cycling is experiencing rapid growth, and our team is committed to achieving ambitious goals. We strive to provide our riders with the most advanced technology, ensuring they have everything they need to perform at their best.

“Combining our experience on the field with Shimano’s renowned expertise in cycling innovation, we are poised to grow together and compete at the highest level with the finest equipment available.”

Shimano’s Di2 electronic gear shifting integration and advanced braking technologies have already played a pivotal role in the team’s most memorable races over the last several seasons, including over 80 wins, across Grand Tours, One-Day Classics and many other General Classification races in 2024.

For UAE Team ADQ, the team is ready for new challenges: the addition of a top rider such as Elisa Longo Borghini, this year’s winner of the Giro d’Italia Women and the Tour of Flanders, brings even greater ambition for the future.

Yuzo Shimano, executive officer, VP, Bike Planning Department, Shimano said: “Our four-year partnership with UAE Team Emirates represents a long-term commitment to technological innovation. We are engineering a comprehensive performance solution that will drive cycling technology forward for the foreseeable future.”
