Pashley has announced the launch of four new bikes sharing the Pathfinder name, with the range comprising two e-bikes and two analogue bikes.
Representing the latest launch from Britain’s longest-established bicycle maker, the Pathfinder e-bike continues to expand Pashley’s product range, taking the quintessentially British brand into a new market, which sees it engaging with a wider audience.
Comprising four models – Pathfinder, Pathfinder E, Pathfinder X and Pathfinder XE – the full Pathfinder range has been designed and specced to offer riders a range of versatile, discipline-crossing, machines.
Of the design, a spokesperson for the brand comments: “The new range is aimed at a wider audience keen to explore and experience cycling, offering scope to travel further over new terrain and to challenge the daily commute from town centres to country lanes and off-road trails.”
The Pathfinder E:
The Pathfinder E is designed to be lightweight, nimble and comfortable. Fully equipped the bike weighs 17.8kgs, with power via Mahle’s hub-based X30 motor, coupled with an integrated internal battery.
Pairing the Pathfinder E with the integrated Mahle e-bike system offers riders all the grace and comfort for which Pashley is renowned, whilst also delivering the added benefit of a powerful, quiet, reliable and subtly integrated electric-assist drive, to aid pedalling and help riders climb hills with ease.
The Pathfinder E – available in a diamond or step-through frame – is fitted with full-length double-wall alloy mudguards, front SON Edelux II front light, Litemove COB LED rear light (both powered from the Mahle battery).
The Pathfinder:
Available in a diamond or step-through frame, the Pathfinder frame is hand-crafted at Pashley’s factory in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Using a unique combination of trusted Reynolds 725, 631 and 525 butted steel tubes, the Pathfinder features a geometry intended to give riders the confidence and ability to tackle a broad spectrum of riding and terrain.
Featuring a 3D printed stainless steel seat stay to top tube junction and internal cable routing, the Pathfinder X frame is complimented by a full carbon fibre fork with tapered steerer. The wide blade fork is also fitted with direct mounting points for the Pashley-designed and built front Porteur rack.
Shimano Cues 1 X 11 takes care of the drivetrain, featuring an 11-43T wide range cassette and 40T chainset with a narrow/wide chainring.
The addition of Shimano MT201 hydraulic brakes provides reliable, responsive stopping power and is complimented by high-volume semi-slick tyres, intended to offer a balance of speed and grip on varied surfaces.
The Pathfinder and Pathfinder E offer a choice of two classic, heritage shades – Ash Green or Trail Stone.
The Pathfinder XE:
The Pathfinder XE is an “e-bike inspired by the machines of the mountain bike pioneers”, with Pashley bringing a retro approach to a cutting-edge platform. The Pathfinder XE is designed to offer multi-terrain capability and versatility, complete with powerful, controlled electric assistance in a package weighing just 17kg.
Mahle takes care of the e-bike power with its X30 rear hub motor producing 250W and 45nm of almost silent power. The discreet internal battery can also be supplemented with the eX1 range extender adding an additional 85% to your range, pushing your ride limits even further.
The Pathfinder and Pathfinder XE share the same Shimano Cues drive train, as well as sporting matching Shimano MT201 hydraulic brakes.
The Pathfinder X:
Like its e-bike sibling, the Pathfinder X is a bicycle designed to blur the boundary between the urban jungle and off-road tracks and trails – a bicycle equally at home cutting through traffic as it is exploring the path less travelled.
The Pathfinder X is made from the highest quality Reynolds steel and is meticulously hand-crafted in England. Complete with Pashley Porteur front rack, Shimano Cues 1×11 drivetrain, MT201 hydraulic disc brakes, mountain bike tyres and finishing kit, this is a discipline-crossing machine designed for the modern-day explorer, traversing a multitude of terrains with style and purpose.
Both the Pathfinder X and the Pathfinder XE are available in a choice of two stand-out colours Ocean Blue or Amethyst.
