BikeBiz takes a closer look at the range…

Wahoo Fitness, the leading fitness technology company for endurance athletes, has announced an exciting new initiative.

As part of the brand’s developing partnership with Zwift, KICKR CORE Zwift One and Zwift Cog and Click have been made available exclusively via Wahoo Retailers globally.

Previously, these Zwift products were only available to buy directly, online.

What are Zwift Cog and Click?

Compatible only with Zwift, Zwift Cog is a single sprocket designed to fit most 8-12 speed bikes, simplifying your setup by eliminating the need to swap cassettes. For retailers it reduces the need to carry a number of SKUs and results in a quicker turnover of stock. And for consumers, switching between bikes is simple with seamless compatibility and no need for additional setup. Zwift Cog makes getting into Zwift easier and more accessible

Pair Zwift Cog with Zwift Click, a compact wireless controller, and you unlock the power of virtual shifting.

Zwift Click allows you to shift gears directly in-game without touching your bike’s physical drivetrain. Mount it anywhere that feels natural—drop bars, aero bars, or flat bars—giving you full control of your ride with the click of a button.

What are Virtual Gears?

Virtual gears allow you to simulate gear changes without the need to touch your physical gears. Using Zwift Click or Zwift Play Controllers, you can shift through 24 virtual gears, instantly and silently.

This ensures smooth, responsive shifting whether you’re tackling a steep climb or sprinting to the finish. Plus, virtual shifting keeps your ride quiet and eliminates the wear and tear on your drivetrain.

Why Zwift Cog is the heart of the Zwift ecosystem

At the core of Zwift’s hardware ecosystem, Zwift Cog is the key to unlocking Zwift’s most advanced features. It works seamlessly with Zwift Click and Zwift Play to deliver precise, in-game gear shifts that adapt to your ride.

Its adjustable sprocket alignment ensures optimal chain alignment, reducing noise and providing a smoother riding experience no matter what bike you are riding.

But Zwift Cog does more than simplify your setup—it’s designed for versatility. Compatible with most 8-12 speed drivetrains, Zwift Cog makes switching between bikes effortless, saving you from the hassle of changing cassettes.

And if you decide to upgrade to the Zwift Ride Smart Frame, Zwift Cog integrates flawlessly, future-proofing your setup for the next stage of your Zwift journey.

Why upgrade to Zwift Cog and Click?

Streamlined Setup: Zwift Cog eliminates the worry of choosing the right cassette, working with most 8-12 speed bikes to make trainer setup a breeze, including MTB and older bikes. Whether you’re riding your summer bike or winter bike, it’s all plug-and-play.

Enhanced Experience: With Zwift Click, you unlock 24 virtual gears—silent, instant, and efficient. Forget about mechanical shifting and enjoy seamless gear changes right in the game.

Future-Proofing: As your Zwift setup evolves, Zwift Cog is designed to grow with you. Whether you add Zwift Play controllers or upgrade to the Zwift Ride Smart Frame, your Zwift Cog will integrate flawlessly, making it the foundation of your indoor cycling ecosystem.

Compatibility

As of October 2024, Zwift Cog and Click is fully compatible with: Wahoo KICKR CORE Zwift One, Wahoo KICKR, Wahoo KICKR Move, Jetblack Victory, Van Rysel D100 (version sold with Click and Cog only), and the Elite Direto XR (version sold with Click and Cog only).

Consumers are advised to look for the ‘Zwift Ready’ logo on their trainer to ensure compatibility with Zwift’s hardware and virtual shifting features.

A Zwift Ready trainer means it’s optimised for seamless performance with Zwift Cog and Zwift Click. This certification is traditionally on the packaging or product page of the respective trainer.

Zwift Cog and Click are more than just gear-shifting tools—they represent the future of smart indoor cycling.

Whether simplifying a trainer setup or enhancing a ride with silent virtual gears, Zwift Cog and Click transform the user experience.

This exciting news comes at the peak of the Northern Hemisphere’s Winter season 2024/25, adding to Wahoo’s ‘best in class’ range of products at retail and offering an unrivalled range of price points, value and customer choice.

Zwift Cog and Click retails at £79.99, with the KICKR CORE Zwift One available for £449.99.
