European children’s bike brand Woom has announced its expansion to the UK.
Founded in 2013 by two cycling-enthusiastic fathers Christian Bezdeka and Marcus Ihlenfeld in a garage in Vienna, Woom entered the children’s bike market with plans to “set a new standard” with innovative design.
In 10 years, Woom has risen to one of the market leaders, and is now available in 30 countries worldwide.
In Austria, every second newly purchased children’s bike is a Woom bike, and in Germany, that figure is one in four.
Two years ago, Woom achieved a company record turnover of $100 million and currently employs 200 people worldwide.
Woom bikes have been honoured with numerous design awards including the Red Dot Award, the German Design Award, the iF Design Award and the Design & Innovation Award.
Paul Fattinger, CEO of Woom, said: “We are incredibly excited to announce our expansion in the UK market.
“With the UK’s rich cycling culture and heritage, as well as an increasing emphasis on sustainable transportation, we aim to put the fun back into cycling and provide British parents with the reassurance that they can do that safely with Woom.
“As a brand built on personal experience, we strive to set the new standards for premium children’s bikes in the UK, and we’ll be working with our retail partners to get the word out there.”
