Transition debuts all-new Sentinel

Transition has introduced an all-new Sentinel.

It still has the same 160/150mm travel and offers a choice of alloy or carbon, three colours, and both Shimano or SRAM builds.

The new Sentinel may have a similar silhouette, but Transition have fully redesigned the frame with updated industrial design, features, and geometry.

The leverage curve supports the bike higher in its travel and, according to the brand, this gives it the lively, sporty attitude felt in the Spur and Smuggler without sacrificing its capabilities in rougher terrain.

New size-specific chainstays and a 64-degree headtube angle keep riders balanced, and
Transition have added internal frame storage in the downtube of the carbon frame.

The “BOOM” Box (Burritos Or Other Munchies) is positioned below and isolated from the water-bottle cage mount.

This allows riders to leave their bottle installed in the cage while getting into the BOOM Box, reducing clutter and fuss on the trail.

It also prevents noise and potential failure since it doesn’t place any weight on the door itself.

With an access lever and two supplied gear bags, riders can stow away snacks, tools, a tube, or anything else they want to have along for the ride.

The lower shock mount has a geo-adjust flip chip to accommodate mixed wheels, and features a new design that allows water, dirt and debris to wash away.

On the main pivot area there is a pre-installed mudguard, to extend bearing life.

Furthermore, the chain stay protector has been redesigned, to keep chain slap to a minimum.

Cable/hose ports on either side of the head tube also feature a new design, to prevent rattling and reduce the likeliness of kinking during a crash.

They can be customised to suit both cable and wireless systems, using blanks which give a sleeker aesthetic and keep dirt out.

Finally, the frame comes with a Fidlock base pre-installed.

Transition is exclusively distributed in the UK and Ireland by Windwave.
