Deuter, the German brand known for its high-performance backpacks and outdoor equipment, and downhill mountain bike racing team, Continental Atherton, have announced a new multi-year partnership.
From Summer 2024 Deuter will provide the team with high-quality equipment to meet the demanding conditions of elite mountain biking across training, racing and the adventures in between.
Commenting on the announcement, Gee Atherton, Continental Atherton Race Team, said: “We’re stoked to be working with Deuter. They are a brand synonymous with adventure and the outdoors. We have some great projects planned that are only possible with support from the likes of Deuter, and are also excited to push the brand to a fresh audience in the cycling world with Deuter’s support of the Continental Atherton race team.“
The new collaboration marks a new step for the outdoor brand’s support for athletes in the UK and beyond and will see Continental Atherton racers, including multiple World Champions, European Champions and World Cup winners, supplied with equipment from across Deuter’s range of high-quality backpacks, bags and accessories.
The athletes will also be integrated into Deuter’s Pro Team programme which spans product development and testing initiatives.
Christina Völlinger, head of marketing, Deuter, said: “We are thrilled to partner with the Continental Atherton race team, a world-class group of athletes and supporting team that embodies the same spirit of adventure and commitment to excellence that Deuter stands for.
The collaboration, born from shared core values including deep passion for the outdoors, adventure, and high-performance expertly crafted equipment – will see the German brand providing the UK-based team with products including Deuter’s Trans Alpine Pro bike backpack, Compact lightweight bike backpack, Attack protector backpack, and Duffel Pro plus Duffel Pro Movo travel bags.
Here, Völlinger adds: “By equipping these elite athletes with our latest gear we will help them perform at their best, whether they’re tackling the most challenging trails or competing on the world stage. Our R&D team is looking forward to working closely with the team on our upcoming releases for mountain bikers and big mountain adventurers.”
